The LA Autoshow has, this week, launched a number of cars. It is always bone of the high points of the automotive year, and it seems like the current concepts and brand new car creations are determined to ensure that that doesn’t change this year!
A particularly exciting launch, for yours truly, is the newest incarnation of the infamous Transformers Bumblebee car, the Chevvy Camaro. You can see the new Camaro in action in the newer Transformer films directed by Michael Bay who uses the new Camaro as a character in the films. The Chevrolet Camaro has always been an exciting sports car, but the newest 2011 Chevrolet Camaro convertible edition puts it into a whole new stratosphere – one no doubt full of huge engines and a hearty American drawl.
The most American of American brands has built the all new Camaro convertible for those long American highways, and you can just imagine this car with the roof down, drifting along the road and into the sunshine. And OK, so what if some of the original Chevvy Camaro lines are lost in the transition from Coupe to Convertible – it is surely worth it for the sea breeze running through your hair and the sight of the blazing horizon in the distance.
To quote some stats for you from the website, the “Convertible will be available in the same basic model offering as the Camaro Coupe – a standard 312 horsepower Direct Injection V6 model with an EPA estimated 29 MPG highway(6), and the legendary SS model featuring the 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 426 horsepower. A six-speed manual transmission will be standard, with an optional six-speed automatic.”. Now, tell me that doesn’t sound damn sexy?!
