Geneva Motor Show | Some of the Highlights

Post image of Geneva Motor Show | Some of the Highlights

The Geneva Motor Show is bigger, brasher and (dare I say it) better this year than ever before. There are so many cars to cover, and so little time, and I am sure that here at THE Blog About Cars we will be feasting off the rich pickings for some weeks to come. However, whilst there may be so many things to look at, that doesn’t stop certain cars and concepts standing out from the crowd. And so, without further ado, here are some of our highlights so far.

Renault DeZir

Renault DeZir

Renault is making a big fuss about the DeZir, and with good reason. It is, after all, perhaps the first concept car that Renault have made in a long time with really stylish styling. It may be a way away from production, but if an electric motored beauty like this were to be released by the French automotive brand, then I think they could be a major competitor, even if there is more than a little influence from Audi’s E-Tron.

Tata Pixel

Tata Pixel

The Tata Nano achieved some impressive things, but it wasn’t exactly revolutionary for the European market – except for the price. Well, the Pixel is designed to meet a more city focused requirement, with low emissions, good fuel economy, and a teeny tiny turning circle – all of which suggest Tata is committed to venturing more into the European market. With a car like this, it may just be possible!

Lamborghini Aventador LP7004

Lamborghini Aventador

It may just look like a beautiful car, but the Aventador is also pretty impressive. It has an incredibly light weight for a four wheel drive car, meaning this beast of a machine can get from 0-62MPH in just 2.9 seconds, which is blindingly fast. Blindingly expensive too, but that is by the by.

Clear Subaru car

Top marks for coolest looking car at the show, although obviously the production model of this new Subaru Coupe won’t have the funky clear plastic exterior. Still, it does let us see what is going on beneath the bonnet, which is what Subaru specialises in after all – and this one features a boxer engine, chassis and suspension package that looks damn good when put on display.

Chrome Audi R8

Finally, we’ve probably all seen one of these before, but there is something incredibly cool about a chrome R8, and I just had to share!
