The Chinese car market grows again. Whilst a year ago we could have been forgiven for not really knowing anything about the Chinese car scene, the ground has changed a lot over the past year. The credit crunch and ensuing plethora of bankrupted profit-less car manufacturers has seen Chinese car firms sweeping in by the dozen, rather like cloaked superheroes from a forgotten Marvel tale.

The most recent development has seen Peugeot announce a joint venture with Chinese car firm, Changan, adding to their existing deal with Dongfeng Motor Group, which they have had for years and years. This particular venture is all about light commercial vehicles, aiming to give Peugeot a firm foothold against Ford and General Motors. This could , theoretically, give Peugeot a major step up the light commercial ladder.
